| Switch is an R&B/funk band originally formed in December 1976 by Gregory Williams. While at Motown, from 1977 to 1983, Switch recorded five albums (two of which went platinum and three gold) culminating more than eight million record sales. They scored big with four top ten singles: "There’ll Never Be," "I Call Your Name," "Best Beat In Town," and "Love Over and Over Again.”
In July 2003, Switch reunited and kicked off a reunion with a successful, well received performance on the Tom Joyner Morning Show. Switch released the CD ”Switch Live“ on Switch Entertainment Records ”SER“; they enjoyed the chart topping successes of ”It Just Ain’t Right“ by 2006’s newest music prodigy NE*YO, and ”Throw Some Dee’s“ by chart topping rap newcomer Rich Boy. (Both of which are remakes of Switch’s ”I Call Your Name“.)
The revived Switch features five original and two new members. Sharing the stage are lead singers Phillip Ingram (Lead vocals/keyboards—original member), new comer Akili Nickson (Lead vocals/percussions) and group founder/leader Gregory Williams (keyboards/vocals—original member), Tommy DeBarge (Bass /vocals—original member), Eddie Fluellen (keyboards/ trombone/vocals—original member) with Michael McGloiry (guitarist/vocals—original-Switch guitarist), Michael Norfleet (keyboards/vocals) and Tony Moore (Drums). So keep your eyes, ears and date books open for Switch!
